The Top 10 Best Blogo Trasho Movies of 2012, Garfield plush doll madness, Boquita De Caramelo, Mexico and their favorite little martian, Fuck You 2012, Hello 2013!!!

It seemed just like yesterday when 2012 started and now its coming to an end. Wow, FAST!

2012 was a pretty interesting year for Blogo Trasho. The blog went into a direction I never imagined it would go to. What direction am I speaking of exactly? Well, I pretty much mostly covered Mexploitation movies. At first I thought, "Maybe I'm wasting my time. Nobody gives a shit about these movies nor will they ever." and surprisingly a nice bunch of you readers found some of these movies pretty intriguing. I thank you all for reading this ridiculous blog and digging it. I appreciate it very much.

Next year (& possibly beyond that),  I will continue to cover trashy Mexploitation movies. Hopefully you will keep reading and enjoying the posts. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not just going to cover Mexploitation, I will still cover other trashy movies from the good ol' USA and other cool countries.

Enough of the serious talk now, lets get to The Top 10 Best Blogo Trasho Movies of 2012!

HERE WE GO!

(click title of the movie to read review!)

Out of all these Mexploitation movies I've watched, La Cumbia Asesina really impressed the hell out of me. Catchy music, lovable characters, great cast, great story, and just.... Ahh, Great Everything! La Cumbia Asesina is by far the the most romantic and trashiest movie I have ever seen. It definitely deserves to be on top.

Sought after for over a year and finally I acquired a copy of the Venganza Suicida; the best rape/revenge movie from Mexico.

Oh sure, the movie is pretty crappy but it is however pretty entertaining. Plus, there's a Garfield plush doll in it. I love Garfield. Everyone loves Garfield. Various friends of mine asked me "what is up with that Garfield doll you keep posting on Tumblr?" My answer: "I have no idea. Everyone that has seen this movie has been asking that same question." Oscar Fentanes, wherever you are... Please explain to all of us what is it with you and that bug eyed Garfield plush doll.

Btw,

I must thank my good pal Grant for the VHS copy of El Lambiscon Verde. If it weren't for him, none of us would be asking What the fuck is up with that Garfield plush doll. Thank you, Grant!

I like the Edgar Allan Poe short so naturally I had to watch the movie based on it. I really liked it. It's truly a great little horror movie.

This movie is hilarious and so great. Such a trashy movie indeed.

Crown International Pictures always impress me with their cheap exploitation movies.

 7. Magico, El Enviado De Los Dioses (1990)
The opening made me cry.

8. Un Corazon Para Dos (1990)
The Ultimate Mexican Friend Zone Movie.

9. Mafia En Jalisco (1991)
A grouchy Ernesto Gomez Cruz, lots of shooting, Whitney Houston's "Saving All My Love For You" playing as Ernesto Gomez Cruz rants. So neat!

10. Danik, El Viajero Del Tiempo (1996)
True Story. When I mentioned on Twitter that I was watching Danik for the 1st time, a loyal Blogo Trasho reader/buddy named Alberto Acuña DM'd me telling me if I was aware of the big Mexican Danik craze back in 1996. I was like "What? There was a Danik craze over in Mexico? Really?" then he emailed me all about the big Danik craze over in his country. He told me about the Danik merchandise being sold in various stores, Danik talk all over the streets, tons & tons of Danik VHS tapes being sold in a market, and he even told me how Danik changed his and his friends' lives. I could not believe how this ridiculous martian movie meant to a lot of Mexicans, but its true. Very, very true.

Well, those are Top 10 Best Blogo Trasho Movies of 2012! Aren't they a great bunch?

I couldn't afford musical performances this year, so here's some great clips & trailers that I uploaded on YouTube. Enjoy!

Alright, well I'm out. See ya in January with a Miguel Marte movie review or two.  LATER!

Patricia Rivera avoids being hit with a hatchet.

I learned some things from A Golpe De Hacha (aka "Hatchet Hit"). First of all, pizza in Mexico is pronounced "pisa". If your cat gets killed with a hatchet, you will automatically receive 20,000 pesos in your checking account the following day. Also, if your best friend, priest, and boss get killed with a hatchet, you will also receive 20,000 pesos for each dead close one. Last, if a big guy with big hands starts flirting with you, he clearly wants to date you and not kill you with a hatchet. Give the big guy a chance! Don't be a mean chick, dammit.

In A Golpe De Hacha, a young woman (Patricia Rivera) is stalked by a mysterious man in the streets. The woman is paranoid as hell since this man follows her every night and stands near her apartment building just waiting to get a glimpse her. Creepy, huh? Next thing you know, the woman's apartment is broken into, her cat is dismembered, her boss is hit by a hatchet,  and a priest whom the woman is close to is also hit by a hatchet. After the cat and the close ones get killed, the woman gets 20,000 pesos (for each dead close one) deposited into her bank account! Weird, huh?

With a title like A Golpa De Hacha, you would expect some brutal (& cheap) hatchet kills but unfortunately the kills are barely seen and little blood is shown when the dead bodies are discovered. Still, the movie has a creepy tone to it and I love that. Plot of the movie is alright but I did however have an issue with the motive for the killings (& money depositing) since the killer explains it all awkwardly in a hospital bed.

A Golpe De Hacha
wasn't the way I expected it to be but it is an entertaining movie anyway. Definitely worth watching on a slow, cold night. 4/10.

Patricia Rivera's Suicidal Revenge.

It was Christmas night when a young woman named Elena (Sandra Morgan) was brutally raped & left for dead by a group of sick fucks. The sick fucks also killed her mother, younger sister, and crippled little brother. A few months after her attack, Elena gets plastic surgery to change her appearance (Elena is then played by Patricia Rivera), she also learns how to fire a gun, learns a few martial arts moves, and she even learns how to throw knives like a pro. Why is she doing all that? Elena wants to kill the sick fucks that killed her entire family. She will do just about anything to get to them and will not let anyone get in her away from getting her revenge... Her Suicidal Revenge.

When I saw the trailer for Venganza Suicida last summer, I knew right then and there I had to see this movie because it looked fucking amazing. I finally acquired a copy of  Venganza Suicida in October and I must say I never expected it to happen so damn soon. I honestly felt like crying when I held the beautiful Mex American big box in my hands. This was a movie that I wanted so badly for over a year and now all of a sudden its in my hands? Ah! AMAZING!

Venganza Suicida is by the far the best Rape/Revenge movie from Mexico. This is some epic shit right here. No bullshit, no exaggerations. This is a fucking great movie. Every minute of this movie is filled with badass action & so much sleaze. I love me some action & sleaze; don't you? If you do, then you definitely have to check out Venganza Suicida. However, its not exactly easy to acquire a copy of Venganza Suicida since it is a pretty fuckin' rare movie. You're gonna have to search high & low for it. The search for it will most likely be long and not so easy, but it will be so worth it once you do find it.

Look for it. Love it. 10/10.
